What is Counselling?

At some point in our lives we will experience times when we feel that we are overwhelmed and we cannot cope. These feelings often impact on other areas of our life. This may be time to seek out a counsellor.

Counselling provides a safe, impartial and confidential space in which to explore your feelings. Talking to a professional in a confidential setting, safe in the knowledge that what you say will be respectfully listened to, can sometimes help us to understand what is making us feel a certain way. With this understanding, we can take the necessary steps to improve our lives.

What Happens In A Counselling Session?

Counselling is not advice and may feel different from other type of help. During our sessions, I can help you explore and understand difficulties, and then help you to develop your own resources to cope with them.

How long is a session?

Each session  lasts for 50 minutes on a weekly basis. This is flexible, however, as lifestyle and work or family commitments require us to change and adapt.

At our initial appointment we will discuss how we will work together. It will give you the opportunity to share what you would like to gain from counselling, and allow you to get a feel of whether you think I am the right counsellor for you.
